Mykonos Paradise Found: Bellissimo Resort Awaits!
Mykonos Paradise Found: Bellissimo Resort Awaits! - Seriously, Is this Real? (A Review That'll Make You Need to Book)
Okay, buckle up. Because I just survived, and I mean survived, a trip to Mykonos. And the Bellissimo Resort? Well, Bellissimo ain’t kidding. This place… wow. Let's be honest, I went in expecting Instagram bait. You know, pristine pools, flawless tans, and enough selfie sticks to build a small space station. What I got was… a lot more.
First things first: Accessibility. Now, I don't have any mobility issues myself, but I always check this stuff out. Bellissimo? They've put in the work. Facilities for disabled guests are definitely there, with an elevator that actually works (a shocking revelation, sometimes!). I saw ramps, and while I didn't personally scope out the rooms, I’m betting they're pretty well set up. My take? They're trying, which is more than you can say for a lot of other places.
Rooms: Alright, let's get to the good stuff. Wi-Fi is FREE in all rooms! Praise the internet gods! Because let's be real, a vacation without Insta is like… well, it's like going to Mykonos and not taking a picture of the sunset. Which, by the way, is also an option. I have an In-room safe box, which is a must. I, like all tourists, am terrified of losing my passport. Then you've got your standard: Air conditioning, Coffee/tea maker (a lifesaver after a night out), Mini bar (yes, please!), and a Refrigerator to keep your waters cold even on the hottest of days. I also loved the blackout curtains. Seriously clutch for sleeping in after a night of… well, whatever happens in Mykonos 😉.
I'm a sucker for a good seating area, and the room had a decent one. I'm not a fan of the carpeting though…I find it to be a bit of messy and the slippers were not that great but, hey, it's a minor annoyance if you ask me. I didn’t have a chance to use the ironing facilities but I guess it's there.
Cleanliness and Safety: Okay, the Covid situation. I'm not gonna lie, I was a little nervous. But Bellissimo? Top marks. They are serious about this. Anti-viral cleaning products everywhere. Daily disinfection in common areas. They even have rooms sanitized between stays. And, the BEST part? The Staff trained in safety protocol. You could taste the sanitiser in the air (not literally, although… maybe?). I give a HUGE thumbs up!
Dining, Drinking, and Snacking: This is where Bellissimo really shines. I'm talking about Poolside Bar bliss! The Breakfast service was amazing, I had the Asian breakfast on a couple of days! I didn’t try the soup in the restaurant but it looked delicious. I do have to say that I was really impressed by the A la carte in restaurant, I'm not usually a fan of these kinds of restaurants but on my first night I decided to go for it; I had the Vegetarian restaurant!! I'm not even vegetarian, but the food was so good, I was almost converted! The service was great as well. Chef’s kiss. Honestly though, there's a Snack bar for when you just need a quick bite after some serious sunbathing and swimming in the Swimming pool [outdoor] . There's also a Coffee shop, which is also really nice!
Things To Do, Ways to Relax: Okay, so you're in Mykonos. You need to relax, right? Bellissimo gets it. There's a Fitness center if you’re feeling virtuous (I wasn't, haha!). And for the real indulgence? The Spa. Oh. My. Gods. I had a massage. Heaven. Forget the world. Forget everything. This spa is a must. I also tried the body scrub and body wrap. They were wonderful. They also have a Sauna, a Steamroom and a Foot bath. This is a place for serious chill. I mean, the Pool with view alone is worth the trip!
Services and Conveniences: Okay, so the practical stuff. Air conditioning in public areas (essential!). Daily housekeeping (thank god!). Concierge service (super helpful). Laundry service (a lifesaver). They also have a Gift/souvenir shop…because you will want to take something home to prove you were actually there.
Getting Around: They offer Airport transfer, which is a must. Seriously, don’t even try to navigate Mykonos on your own. The roads are… an experience. There is a Car park [free of charge] but I didn’t use it, and I actually preferred using a Taxi service.
For the Kids: I didn't bring any kids, but I noticed they had Babysitting service and Kids facilities. They are definitely Family/child friendly!
An Anecdote (Because You Need One): Okay, real talk time. One night, I stumbled back to my room (don't judge) after a particularly epic sunset celebration. I somehow managed to lock myself out. (Yes, I did.) I called the Front desk [24-hour]. Within minutes, someone was there, smiling, and getting me back in. No judgement, just helpfulness. It's those little things that make a place special.
The Not-So-Perfect Bits (Because I'm Honest): Okay, nobody’s perfect. The Internet access isn’t the fastest at times, especially during the peak hours. And the Room service [24-hour], while convenient, is a bit on the pricey side.
My Verdict: You MUST Book This!
Look, this is not just a hotel; it’s an experience. Bellissimo Resort is a place where you can truly relax, soak up the Mykonos vibe, and feel taken care of. Yes, it's beautiful. Yes, it's got all the bells and whistles. But it's also got a heart.

Alright, buckle up buttercups, because this isn't your average, sterile travel itinerary. This is going to be a glorious, messy, sun-kissed chronicle of my attempted "luxury" escape to the Bellissimo Resort in Mykonos, Greece. Prepare for the highs, the lows, the sunburn, and the existential dread of too much feta.
Bellissimo Bliss: Mykonos - A Disaster-Piece in the Works
Day 1: Arrival – The Aegean Beckons (and Almost Devours Me)
- Morning (6:00 AM - 8:00 AM): Ugh. Pre-dawn. I'm pretty sure the flight from… wherever I was before… wiped out some crucial sleep cycles. Taxi to the airport – driver definitely thought I was paying him too much for the short ride. Note to self: download travel apps. Greek time is real-time, which seems to be perpetually late time.
- Morning (8:00 AM - 11:00 AM): Flight. Praying for a smooth landing. Which, naturally, means it'll be bumpy.
- Mid-Morning (11:00 AM - 13:00 PM): Arrived! Mykonos Airport: smaller than expected, but still, it’s Mykonos! Found the transfer to Bellissimo Resort. "Bellissimo," they said. "Luxury," they promised. Right. The driver, a stoic man with a deeply tanned face, didn't say much, which was fine. I was too busy fighting off jet lag and that weird, itchy feeling you get after being crammed in a metal tube for hours.
- Afternoon (13:00 PM - 15:00 PM): Check-in at The Bellissimo. The lobby is pretty. Over the top? Maybe. But hey, I'm here. The staff, bless their hearts, were trying their best to be accommodating, but I swear they were all either gorgeous or exhausted. (Possibly both). Got a welcome drink – some weird, fruity concoction I can barely remember. But hey, free booze!
- Afternoon (15:00 PM - 17:00 PM): Room reveal! Okay, the room is stunning. Sea view. Private balcony. Plush everything. I started to imagine, this is it. This is the life. Then I tried the Wi-Fi and it crapped out. Classic. Immediate meltdown. I’m addicted to Twitter.
- Evening (17:00 PM - 20:00 PM): Exploring the Resort. Finding the beach. It's beautiful. The water is that ridiculous turquoise color you only see in photos. Dipped my toes in. Cold. Still, the whole scene gives you a sense of calm. Walked along the beach and noticed, after 2 years of quarantine, that I’m still very pale.
- Evening (20:00 PM - 21:00 PM): Dinner at the resort restaurant. The menu read like poetry. The prices read like a ransom demand. Ordered the grilled octopus. It was… chewy. Sent it back. Mortified. Second attempt: pasta. The pasta never came.
- Evening (21:00 PM - 23:00 PM): Drinks at the bar. Met some people. Everyone seems to be either incredibly wealthy or incredibly pretending to be. I fit in somewhere in between, after a couple of cocktails. Or maybe not.
- Evening (23:00 PM - Late): Passed out. Or… passed away? A blur of jet lag, alcohol, and existential wondering. Woke up at 3 AM, staring at the ceiling, thinking, “Did I accidentally spend my life savings on this trip?”
Day 2: Beach Bum Blues and Blunders
- Morning (9:00 AM - 12:00 PM): Sunbathing! Finally! Found a spot on a sun lounger. Almost immediately fell asleep. Woke up feeling like a lobster. My skin is screaming. Note to self: MORE sunscreen.
- Morning (12:00 PM - 13:00 PM): Lunch at the beach bar. The food was better than last night, thank God. But the music was like a bad remix of the worst songs from the 90s. Tried to order a water. Watched a waiter fail for 5 minutes trying to open a fancy water bottle.
- Afternoon (13:00 PM - 16:00 PM): BEACH TIME. Swimming in the sea, and it's actually bearable today. Maybe even… divine. This is why I came here. This, and the Wi-Fi that has magically decided to work*. Got a text from work. *FML*.
- Afternoon (16:00 PM - 17:00 PM): Back to the room to nurse my sunburn and my wounded self-esteem. Attempted to read a book. Failed. Stared at the sea, feeling like everyone else in the world has their lives perfectly together.
- Evening (17:00 PM - 19:00 PM): Tried to book a spa treatment. Fully booked. Of course. Went for a walk. Lost. Found myself at a weird, desolate part of the beach. Questioned my life choices.
- Evening (19:00 PM - 21:00 PM): Dinner at a "trendy" restaurant in town. It was like every Instagram photo come to life. The food was… okay. The people were… annoying. The view was… amazing.
- Evening (21:00 PM - Late): Wandered around Mykonos town. The whitewashed streets are impossibly charming. But the crowds! The noise! The smell of money! Got totally lost. Found a bar. Had a couple of drinks. Ended up talking to a dog. He seemed to understand.
Day 3: The Great Greek Food Quest
- Morning (9:00 AM - 11:00 AM): Tried breakfast at the resort. Epic fail. Expensive, tiny pastries. Bad coffee. Decided I’m going to find a proper Greek breakfast, damn it!
- Morning (11:00 AM - 13:00 PM): Did my research and found a tiny bakery down the side streets. The kind with grandmas yelling at each other. Heaven! Ordered a spanakopita that brought tears to my eyes. Best thing I've ever eaten.
- Afternoon (13:00 PM - 16:00 PM): Beach again. More sun. More sea. More glorious moments of peace punctuated by the nagging feeling I'm missing out on some epic party.
- Afternoon (16:00 PM - 17:00 PM): Rest. I’m exhausted. Literally. The sun, the alcohol, the expectations… it’s all wearing me down.
- Evening (17:00 PM - 19:00 PM): Determined to try some true Greek food. Found a little taverna away from the main tourist drag. Ordered everything: moussaka, souvlaki, tzatziki, the works. Ate until I felt like I might explode. Worth it.
- Evening (19:00 PM - 21:00 PM): Wandered into the little town again, and ended up in one of the super fancy bars. Stared at the rich folk. Decided to drink in silence.
- Evening (21:00 PM - Late): Watched the sky turn into purple. And I thought: I understand why people come here. This place. It's got something. But it also has so much pressure to love it, which isn't the best. I tried to stay.
Day 4: Departure - The Great Escape
- Morning (9:00 AM - 10:00 AM): Wake up. Sunburn is less intense. Still, I don't think I've ever been so tired. The final breakfast… sad. The end of the dream.
- Morning (10:00 AM - 11:00 AM): Check out. The staff is lovely. But I am ready to go.
- Mid-morning (11:00 AM - 12:00 PM): Transfer to the Airport: the car is nice. The drive passes fast.
- Mid-day (12:00 PM - 13:00 PM): Airport. Security. Duty-free. Bought a tiny bottle of ouzo just to say I did.
- Afternoon (13:00 PM - 16:00 PM): Flight home: On time (it’s a miracle!)
- Evening (16:00 PM onwards): Arrive home. Real life. Washing machine. The feeling of not being alone. And for the first time, the joy of not wearing a bikini.
Final Thoughts:
Bellissimo Resort: pretty. Mykonos: beautiful. My expectations: too
